Hello my name is Jackson, the guitar teacher here at Dr. Rocktopus.
I come from a home full of music and was encouraged from an early age to follow that passion. I have been playing guitar since I was 12 when my dad bought me my first guitar at a garage sale. Since then, I have played in a wide variety of bands and as a solo performer.
At the University of Alberta, I completed my Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed), with a focus on Social Studies, Art, and Music. As an educator, I've had the privilege of teaching across the globe and across subjects. One of my most rewarding roles has been developing music programs for children, where I've seen the transformative power of music education.
My experience and education as an educator and musician are the foundation of my teaching philosophy. I believe in the unique potential of each student and their desire to learn what they are passionate about. My goal is to guide you in turning your musical passions into skills that will help you achieve your goals as a musician.
I’m offering to host lessons at my address in St Leonards. I will take special consideration where appropriate. I can provide a loan guitar for use in lessons for anyone starting up.
